On your instructions of installing DHCP for a Home Proxy Server w/filtering Part 6 the text it says that the internal interface is eth1 and you set it up as eth1 with
INTERFACES=”eth1″
Many other place you say that eth0 is the internal.
Which part is wrong the text or the INTERFACES command

Hi Jim,
Thanks for clarifying this issue. I believe that eth 0 is auto-configured by the distro usually. For some reason, my installation of Debian configured eth1 to be the external. As long as you follow what your configuration says, it really doesn’t matter which one you pick to be internal (or external); ie there is no inherent significance in the ethX number.
