Janet and I have been pre-occupied with many things in our life this past year. I wish I had done more for this website, but I wasn't able to find the time and energy for it.
As we will be going through some fairly major transition in our life next year, I am praying about what we may do for this website. One thing we have decided already is to start posting again. Some of the first posts will most likely include topics like politics, evolution-creation issue, authority of the Bible, and some minor how-to's for Linux. But there may be others. Stay tuned...

Wow. This video is amazing. It is amazing how much shift can take place. At work, I can see this as well. I see that more and more scientific papers are coming out of countries we thought of as 3rd world countries. This, in and of itself, is good, but I worry about where the USA is going. I love the country and hate to see it decline just like all of the past superpowers became insignificant.
Among the evangelicals, this may be a cliche, but here it is: woe to us when we as a nation abandon the Lord. When and if we cry out to Him, He will stretch His hand to help us.
A few days ago, I was asked by my mother (who came to know the Lord a couple of years ago, PTL) to explain how I became a Christian and why I became one. I enjoyed telling the account for the hope of drawing her closer to the Lord. And I thought I should have my testimony on my blog! In fact, this has been on my mind for some time and so here it is. I hope that you will be edified and that you will see how sweet and merciful the Lord is. Praise be to God for His everlasting Gospel, God's power unto salvation! Please join with me in thanking our merciful God.
Once in a while, I am in the mood to sit at my computer and hit the "Stumble!" button for my reading leisure. In case you're wondering what I'm talking about, it is a plugin called Stumble Upon for Firefox web browser. It is great, but dangerous in that you could waste a lot of time with it on the web. The fruit of the Spirit is self-control, ....
Anyhow, I "stumbled" upon this article about Halloween. It is a good read and challenges some of us (including myself) in a way that we're perhaps not used to. The author is correct in his/her observation that it's the only day of the year when your neighbors let down their guard and are willing to chat with you even if they don't know you (I realize this probably only applies to USA).
Just 2 days ago, while snacking on a peanut butter / jelly sandwich, I heard a big CRUNCH sound. My initial thought was "I must have bitten into some bug that sneaked into my sandwich!"
My tendency to think such a thing probably has its origin in the days I spent in semi-poverty when I was living in a $200/month apartment in the ghetto part of downtown Portland, OR. I almost tasted what a cockroach tastes like Read the rest of this entry »
This is the first post in our newly set-up blog site. I switched to wordpress (PHP / mysql) set up because the entering new stuff is way easier! We will be posting anything from devotionals to Linux how-to's, local business reviews, what's happening in our lives, etc.
I suppose it will be sort of a typical personal blog site, but we hope to do good things worthy of the name that we get to bear (ie not to waste our time or your time). One thing is for sure; we are very grateful to the Lord Jesus for His name that we bear!
